Day 55 – The Final Countdown

When Keenan left for school, I went to the kitchen and made a preparation for my ‘new’ headquarter. I prepared: a big bottle of water, a jug of hot water, a sachet of hot chocolate, a cup of coffee, a bottle of juice, and some snacks.

It was quite fun and adventurous. Creating a headquarter at my own house, lengkap dengan segala trik dan kiat. I’m going to lock myself up in a room for one whole day. Saya melakukan cross crawl, brain button, dll. And it worked brilliantly.

So, I started at around noon, finishing chapter 39. Sore hari, I moved to 40. Sekitar pukul 6.30 malam, saya mulai dengan Bab 41. At 10 pm… I stopped.
Never in my life, I wrote that much in one day.

I checked my word counter. It’s… are you ready for this? Ehm. Ehm. It’s… 75,775 words!! Yiiiiihaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa… Yiiiiippeeeeeeeeee!! Hoo-raaaaaay!! Saya ulangi lagi, sodara-sodara: Tujuh puluh lima ribu tujuh ratus tujuh puluh lima!!

But, wait. Is the story finished? Nope. Three chapters to go, people.
Though I’ve completed my main task: 40 chapters in 55 days, or 70,000 words in 55 days, this journal is not over. Perahu Kertas belum berlabuh.

Nevertheless, tonight I will sleep a big grin on my face. 55 working days, and here I am. Breaking any known writing record in my whole life. The mission is not perfectly accomplished in a way, for I haven’t finished the story. This method may work or may not work in my other writing projects. But at least, right now I have a taste of it, that at one point in my life, I know I have the ability to pull off something like this.

This is not the end. But I hope you get something out of this journey so far. May it be an inspiration, may it be a hillarious entertainment, I’m just thankful for your company. All of you.

From the deepest core of my being, thank you.
